At the heart of each chapter’s annual calendar are signature events — hallmark gatherings that reflect the chapter’s unique culture and deliver standout opportunities for learning, networking, and celebrations.
Building off of the first installment in what’s (for now!) a two-part series, here are several more stories behind other chapters’ signature events.
SITE Canada: Summer Social
Q: How would you describe this event to someone who has never attended?
A: Our Summer Social is a vibrant gathering that blends networking, celebration, and global connection in a relaxed, summery setting. It’s the perfect kickoff to the season for incentive travel professionals, partners, and industry friends.
Q: What makes this event successful or special for your chapter?
A: It’s our most globally diverse event of the year, welcoming attendees from across Canada, the US, Mexico, the Caribbean, Europe, and South America. Beyond its broad reach, it’s also our largest fundraiser, featuring exciting live auction trips, over 30 silent auction items — including hotel stays, gift experiences, and even NHL playoff tickets.
SITE Mountain West: SITE Mountain West Summit
Q: How would you describe this event to someone who has never attended?
A: The Summit is an intimate gathering of incentive professionals, centered on community, sustainability, and meaningful connection. It’s a team effort, and we want you to not only connect with fellow attendees but also build a genuine connection to the place — and the people — that make it so special.
Q: What is one piece of advice you would share with another chapter looking to start their own signature event?
A: Get people involved early – and truly listen to fresh ideas and implement them! This year, we expanded our planning team, and it’s been amazing to see the creativity, collaboration, and new energy shaping the event. Planning is truly a team effort. Assign clear project leads and build committees underneath them to help streamline the process and create a more seamless experience.
SITE Midwest: SITE Midwest FORUM
Q: How would you describe this event to someone who has never attended?
A: This event is the perfect opportunity to learn, experience a wonderful incentive destination, and to meet some of the most welcoming and kind people in the industry!
Q: What makes this event successful or special for your chapter?
A: This event has become something our sponsors and buyers look forward to annually. The anticipation of where the next destination will be, what auction items will be offered, and what memories will be made heightens each year. Not only is it a great opportunity for our chapter to connect and have a fantastic time, but also to raise funding for the next year.
SITE Northeast: SITE Northeast Annual Falliday Soiree and Auction
Q: How would you describe this event to someone who has never attended?
A: This event blends festive holiday cheer with professional networking, featuring a silent and live auction (with grand prizes like airfare-included getaways), cozy seasonal vibes, and entertainment throughout the night.
Q: What makes this event successful or special for your chapter?
A: It is our key fundraiser for the year – our supplier partners contribute amazing auction items and we designate a portion for the current non-profit that our CSR team is focusing on.
Q: What is one piece of advice you would share with another chapter looking to start their own signature event?
A: Start early and promote often!
SITE Florida & Caribbean: Earth Day Event
Q: How would you describe this event to someone who has never attended?
A: On or around April 20, our chapter has offered an Earth Day event every year for the past 10 years. Past events have included a focus on restoring the reefs, sea turtle conservation, beach clean-ups and more. We create a hands-on practical education and experience that you can implement in future incentive programs
Q: What makes this event successful or special for your chapter?
A: This is an educational event that evoke a “do-good” feeling for our members as we get together as a team to support a certain cause. By learning and contributing to a good cause, it brings out a sense of eudaimonia, which involves living a meaningful life and contributing to the well-being of others. We typically don’t make money at this event but support a cause with our proceeds.
Q: What is one piece of advice you would share with another chapter looking to start their own signature event?
A: Consistency!
SITE Southern California: SITE SoCal Holiday Event & Charity Gala
Q: How would you describe this event to someone who has never attended?
A: Our SITE SoCal community comes together to raise money to support 2-3 very deserving local charities. It is a time to celebrate the spirit of the holiday season and give back. We also carve out time for a fun 5K, golf, immersive wellness offerings, and to experience local activities to round out a successful year of events.
Q: What makes this event successful or special for your chapter?
A: As the largest SITE Chapter in the US, we have a strong network of amazing hospitality professionals that contribute to make a difference and make a direct impact by giving to our chosen charities.
